The New Corvette Stingray is Almost Here for Bradenton Drivers!

We’re eagerly counting down the days until the release of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. We know that many Bradenton and Tampa drivers can’t wait to drive the new Stingray, and we can see why. Let’s take a look at how this new model lives up to the classic name.

Living Up to a Legend

Strong curves and a bold design are what defined the old Stingray models, and the 2014 Corvette is the first model since those golden years that has been worthy of the classic name. Engineers overhauled the Corvette’s design from the inside out, crafting a vehicle that was not only revolutionary in style, but also in performance.

For a faster, smoother, and more efficient ride, Chevy developed a new aluminum frame for the Corvette that is 57% more rigid than the current steel frame, while still knocking off 100 lb from the overall weight. Along with the new engine, Chevy estimates that drivers can get an impressive 29 mpg highway, an 11% increase from last year, putting the Corvette at the head of the sports car class in terms of fuel economy.

What Chevy achieves in fuel economy isn’t sacrificed in engine power either. All 2014 Corvette LT1 models are equipped with a 6.2L 455-hp V8, representing a 6% power increase in comparison to this year’s other Corvette models.
