Countdown to the Redesigned 2014 Corvette Stingray

The release of the 2014 Corvette Stingray is getting closer and closer every day, and our team couldn’t be more excited. The Suncoast is home to a large community of Corvette enthusiasts. Why? A Modern Reimagining of a Classic

The new model has caused so much excitement because it brings back elements of the classic Stingray design while still adding something new. Back are the deep curves and contours that the classic Stingrays were known for. Chevy has taken this look and combined it with a bit of 21^st century aggression, creating a look that the nameplate has never really seen before.

Standard Features

Just last month, Chevy announced the new 2014 model would start around $51,995 with convertibles starting around $56,995. This includes a full list of standard features, including:

• A 6.2L LT1 V8 engine with direct injection, Active Fuel Management, continuously-variable valve timing, and an advanced combustion system
• A new seven-speed manual transmission
• Advanced, high-intensity discharge headlamps (HID) and LED lighting
• A nine-speaker Bose sound system with SiriusXM radio, Bluetooth connectivity for music streaming, and USB and auxiliary input jacks
• Dual eight-inch screen with Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system
• Keyless entry with push-button start
• A power tilting and telescoping steering wheel

Convertible Operation

The convertible top is fully electronic and can be lowered remotely with a simple push of a button on the key fob. This means less fuss when you’re trying to get going to the office in the morning or home from the beach at sunset. You can also raise and lower the top while driving at low speeds.

Lighter and Stiffer Frame

Best of all, the new Corvette has been reworked from the ground up with a new aluminum frame that is 99 pounds lighter than before. Despite shedding weight, the frame is 57% stiffer than the previous model, meaning that there is less vibration when driving. This makes for a smoother, quieter ride with less chatter from the frame. The new carbon fiber hood also helps to reduce the total weight.
