The Excitement of a New Model Year

January 7th, 2013 by

2013 Chevrolet SilveradoI’ve noticed that there’s a tendency at auto dealerships for the staff to get like kids on Christmas Eve with the announcement of a new model year for almost any vehicle. The analogy starts to fall apart pretty quickly, though, as children only have to wait until they wake up the next morning to unwrap their presents, while sometimes we have to wait months before we learn more about the next year’s vehicle.

It’s a dangerous game, reloading all of those auto blogs and news sites; we have the double-edged sword of getting updates from the automaker as well, which means we’re compulsively checking emails too.

This might sound like complaining, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Eventually, we’ll forget that, say, Chevrolet hasn’t released any new information about the next year’s Camaro, and then one unexpectedly premieres at an auto show. That’s water cooler talk for some time, because even if engine stats, price points, or interior features have not been released, we know what’s come before and we can speculate.

You might actually see us doing a bit of that around the blog; speculating on new vehicles, that is. We don’t just do this for our own benefit, but we do have fun with it.

No, we provide updates and scour auto news so that you don’t have to, so that when you visit our dealership and want to know everything about the 2014 Silverado, we can tell you that, while it has just been announced, Chevrolet has pronounced it as one of its most refined pickup trucks ever with improved aerodynamics, integrated tailgate and rooftop spoilers, and a range of engine options.

While we may not be able to tell you the specifics every time (the Silverado has a 4.3L V6, 5.3L V8, and 6.2L V8), we can often give you a good idea of what to expect.

You might have that friend that you go to for all of your technology advice or perhaps you know someone who keeps up on all of the latest film news and trailers. Our team at Cox Chevy wants to be the friend you go to when you want to know more about the exciting options available to you from Chevrolet.

It’s not just our job, we love doing it.
