Our Customers Have Spoken

Find your next vehicle at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton.
At Cox Chevrolet we love to listen to what our customers have to say, because wouldn’t you know it, most of the time they’re exactly right. We asked the friends of our Facebook page whether they preferred to lease or buy when in the market for a new car. Needless to say, the results were mixed. At Cox Chevrolet we offer both options of course, because there’s such a difference in our customers’ preferences and lifestyles.
When we asked what our friends preferred, Craig Livingston responded thoughtfully of leasing: “New car every few years with lower payments than buying. No worries about breaking down and having to dump money into it. Comes with road side assistance.”
If you like driving a brand new car that you can be assured won’t have any issues, then leasing is for you. If the car does have issues, you know that the dealership will be there to back you up and make it right. Even if you break down on the road, you’ll probably have some kind of roadside assistance coverage. The payments are always lower than buying because you’re not paying interest that accumulates on a loan, and more importantly, when your lease is up, you don’t have to keep the vehicle and worry about lifespan or resale value.
Arguing the other way is Chris Dolan who says “Own: [I] don’t feel like making payments forever… [my] last truck lasted over 15 years and still looked great! 175,000 [miles].”
Chris has a point here — if you’re committed to your vehicle and take good care of it, and nothing unfortunate or unforeseen happens, you end up with an investment that can last indefinitely. While owning certainly entails more responsibility and doesn’t always have the built-in protection that a leased vehicle may come with — at least after the manufacturer’s warranty runs out — you can end up paying less in the long run. Like Chris said, maybe you don’t want to make payments forever. That’s a good enough reason to buy for us.
Of course, how you decide to manage your finances is up to you. We’re happy to help any way we can. Contact our Finance Center to get approved for financing on a lease or purchase, or even just to discuss your options further!
