Chevy Hits One Out of the Park With Subcompact Concepts

Wow, we’re impressed with Chevy’s SEMA offerings this year at Cox Chevrolet of Bradenton. Chevy has tuned and styled their upcoming 2013 lineup with impressive results. One of these concepts from last year’s show, the Chevy Sonic Dusk, will debut as a production model this year so there’s a chance that some of these exciting adapted Sonics, Cruzes, and Sparks could be in our new vehicle inventory at Cox Chevy next year. Here’s a look at the concepts that Chevy is piloting this year.

Chevy Cruze Upscale Brings Luxury to a Subcompact

Chevy saw the need for a more refined ride and interior in the usually minimalist subcompact market with the Cruze Upscale. Here are the modifications to the stock Cruze:

• Big upgraded 19×8.5-inch aluminum wheels in Black Ice finish
• 225/40ZR19 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 tires
• Dark tinted windows
• Ground effects package, rocker, and extended fascia
• Brown leather wrapped steering wheel
• Leather wrap on door and instrument panels
• Adjustable coil-over suspension kit
• Upgraded four-piston front brake calipers with vented and drilled rotors

Spark Sinister Brings A More Attitude To The Table

Sinister certainly isn’t the first word that springs to mind when you see a stock Chevy Spark. Somehow Chevy managed to change that with this dramatically styled concept. Here’s how they made the unassuming Spark into a menacing sports car:

• Bold body work including rocker fairings, a rear diffuser, and a double exhaust system.
• Nothing says speed like a huge wing spoiler and oversized front air intakes.
• The fenders flare out to cover big 18×6-inch split spoke wheels in a metallic red that are paired with super low profile 205/40ZR18 and 225/40ZR18 performance tires.
• The ride height is lowered, the exterior is blacked out save for some red highlights and some custom Chevy graphics.
