Schedule Your Lease Return at Cox Chevy
At Cox Chevy, we do everything we can to simplify leasing, caring for, and returning a vehicle, and that includes breaking down the lease inspection process, so you know what to expect. When our Tampa and Sarasota drivers bring their leased vehicles back to our showroom to turn over the keys, we work to streamline the process whether you buy your leased Chevy, exchange it for a new model, or simply return it.
Our Lease Inspection Process
When your lease comes to an end and it’s time to return your gently used Chevy to our dealership, your vehicle will be reviewed and have any instances of excessive wear and tear detailed. You can even have an inspection done by an AutoVIN agent at your home or workplace for convenience. Once the inspection is done, you’ll receive a condition report that itemizes any wear and tear of note.
If you go through the XS Wear program from General Motors, help avoid costs due to unforeseen wear; we can also recommend repairs that could reduce overall out-of-pocket expenses when returning your leased vehicle, including indicating which possible repairs could be under warranty.
After returning your vehicle to us and settling any repair costs, the lease agreement is over, and we’ll hand you a receipt to keep for your records. If you are new to the area and have a GM vehicle leased from a different dealership, we can still help out.
Our Inspection Checklist
The lease inspection checklist is thorough, covering the vehicle inside and out, but we’ve found there are a few items that can always use a reminder:
- Return all key fobs and keys
- Replace any removable seating
- Include the vehicle owner’s manual
- Return the vehicle on the original manufacturer wheels
- Remember to include all original accessories
Finally, don’t forget to give the vehicle a good cleaning, inside and out. Make sure you don’t leave any garage door openers or parking passes, either.
