The 2013 Chevy Cruze vs. the 2013 Honda Civic

2013 Chevrolet CruzeAffordability, modern design, and fuel efficiency all define the 2013 Chevy Cruze. For Bradenton and Tampa drivers looking for a four-door, compact vehicle, the Cruze is a strong choice. Don’t confuse compact with “lack of space either; the Cruze was engineered with a spacious, comfortable cabin and a cargo volume of 15.4 cubic-feet. The 60/40 fold-down seat makes even more cargo room.

Though the similarly priced, 2013 Honda Civic comes with some of the same features as the 2013 Cruze, it lacks the Cruze’s strong design. The differences become more apparent at higher trim levels, where the Civic is unavailable with many of the features that Cruze drivers enjoy.

Vehicle Design

Featuring a bold grille indicative of a Chevy, the Cruze has a professional look that is backed up by its tough, 138 hp engine. On the other hand, critics have bemoaned the Civic’s current appearance, as it lacks the charm that drivers expect from a compact vehicle.

Car Features

Looks aside, the Cruze and the Civic both come equipped with many of the same options, including Bluetooth connectivity, steering-wheel mounted controls, and a vehicle anti-theft system. There are a few features though that are missing on base level Civics, though, that come with the Cruze, including:

  • Satellite radio
  • An onboard, handsfree communications system

On higher levels, Cruze drivers are open to lots of options unavailable to Civic drivers, including:

  • Keyless vehicle start
  • A power driver’s seat
  • A premium sound system
  • Chrome wheels
